This two-semester post-baccalaureate fellowship program is designed to help talented students from groups traditionally underrepresented in Theatre and Performance Studies, including first-generation graduate students and those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, to bridge the gap between an undergraduate degree and a graduate training program. Fellows enjoy financial support that includes tuition and a stipend. They are mentored by both faculty and graduate students as they prepare themselves for a successful program of doctoral studies. In addition to strong research experiences, Fellows will receive professional guidance and focused support for the graduate school application process.
In Theatre and Performance Studies, Fellows enroll in a combination of graduate seminars, World Theatre courses, directed research, and experiential learning opportunities, including credits for theatrical production. In support of their short-term and long-term professional goals, Fellows work with their team of mentors and a peer mentor to develop career plans and graduate program applications. Fellows also form a thriving community across campus and there are cross-department mentoring events throughout the year.
