Elizabeth is a Pittsburgh-based director, teacher and AEA actress.
She received her BA from the University of Arkansas before moving to NYC to become a working actress. Her acting credits include Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, Tours, Regional Theatre, Film and TV. Since moving to Pittsburgh in 2011 to get her MFA from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, where she was also an instructor, she has co-founded The New Renaissance Theatre Company with her husband Andy Kirtland. As the Artistic Director for NRTC, which also produces The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project, Elizabeth teaches Shakespeare workshops for universities and local schools and has directed The Comedie of Errors, Much adoe about Nothing and A Midsommer Nights Dreame using the unrehearsed cue script technique. Other local directing credits include The Complete Works of William Shakespeare…abridged and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, both for Unseam’d Shakespeare Company.
Her studies have also taken her to London where, as an undergrad, she studied acting with the now late Michael Deacon and recently she took Directing Masterclasses at Shakespeare’s Globe. Her Pittsburgh acting credits include Ivy in August: Osage County at the Pittsburgh Playhouse REP, Berthe in Boeing Boeing at the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret, Celia in As You Like It for PSIP, Olexandra in the world premiere of Tunnel Vision at Off the Wall Productions as well as various commercial and voice-over work.
